Thanksgiving

We had a fun Thanksgiving this year with the Uitermarkt family. Jeff’s parents are remodeling their kitchen so after church we went out to eat at a restaurant here in Pella. Even though we didn’t have our “traditional” sides it was really nice not to have to cook or clean up dishes :) And luckily they put us in our own room at the restaurant so we didn’t have to worry about the kids being too disruptive to other diners – ha, ha! We spent the rest of the day relaxing and spending time together and playing games. Our nephew Colten is 10 and we got to play games with him all afternoon while the other kids played with toys. He is quite the pitch player and beat up on us pretty bad. We had a lot of fun!

On a side note, Decker is saying all his cousins names now. It’s so cute! EVERY night we have to look at all the cousins pictures and go through them multiple times! Except he can’t quite pronunciate most of them so here’s his names for them: Coco (Colten), Emie (Emily), Dil Dil (Dylan), Taytay (Kayli), Daden (Caden), Coy (he says this one really clear and loud), Bear (Claire – we sometimes call her Claire Bear and evidently only the Bear part stuck; so now it’s just Bear). I think it's funny how some of the "c" or "k" names he'll say and others he won't.

We then went to Mt. Ayr to get together for Thanksgiving too. On Fri. night we went to a family friend’s 40th birthday party which was a lot of fun. On Sat. we got together with the Parrish cousins. It was fun to see all the kids play together. Decker loved the tractors that Evan brought to play!!
