Happy St. Patrick's Day

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Hope everyone wore green on Sat. and didn’t get pinched :) This past weekend we headed down to Mt. Ayr for their now annual St. Patrick’s Day parade. Jeff was flying and out of town so just Decker and I made the trip. The nursing home had a Lucky Charms themed float this year which said “Thank our Lucky Charms we live at Clearview Homes”. My mom had mentioned once a while back that Decker should dress up as a leprechaun. Well that stuck with him and he told all his friends at daycare when they were coloring leprechaun pictures that he got to dress up as one for a parade. Which meant my mom HAD to find him a costume as my little man does not forget. Luckily she got the last one in Des Moines and we had fun with our little leprechaun riding on the float. His favorite part of the parade was the cement truck at the end. My brother had arranged for the cement truck to dump out green water for our own “green river” and Decker thought that was pretty cool. They also had a band playing and then a dinner and costume contest that evening. Decker got too tired and shy by the end of the night to go up there, but Claire walked the green carpet. It was a fun day and we lucked out with beautiful weather.

We also got some more exciting news this weekend. Matt and Katie are expecting and due on 10/30, just a month after us. It will be so much fun to have the cousins so close and play together! Congrats Matt, Katie and Claire!!!
