Cruisin’ to the Bahamas!

My sister and I got to take a cruise to the Bahamas May 20-24. Katie won this weekend cruise at a concert in Chicago and being the WONDERFUL sister that she is, took me along with her! It was a lot of fun to get to hang out with my sister 5 days in a row! We haven’t vacationed together since Europe almost 4 years ago so long overdue. I missed both my boys at home but know that Decker was incredibly spoiled by Pampa, Granny, Uncle Matt, Aunt Katie and other family and friends in Mt. Ayr! Jeff had trips for work so it was almost 10 days without Decker or I seeing him so we were all ready to be back at home. The trip was great and neither of us had been to the Bahamas before and it was so beautiful. 3 days of relaxing, sipping Pina Coladas, and getting some sun – fantastic!

We flew into Orlando Thurs. night and headed to Port Canaveral Fri. morning to board the ship. Here is our first stop on the boat – Bahama Mamas!

Enjoying the pool deck on the cruise Fri. afternoon.

In the Schooner Bar dressed up for dinner and enjoying the piano man.

Here we are pulling into Nassau, Bahamas to port for the day.

Look at all the cruise ships! You can see the famous Atlantis Resort off to the left in the background.

Shopping at the market - Festival Place

My sister’s old roommates – Kevin and Mercedes – happen to be working in the Bahamas right now which was perfect timing. So they picked us up and we headed to a private resort on Cable Beach. It was nice to get away from the crowds and lounge. Here are some pictures from the resort.

On our way back before dinner we stopped at Bob Marley’s hotel.

Back on the boat and ready to go to the midnight buffet and party. Notice our nice tan (burn) lines!

The next day we stopped at the Royal Caribbean’s private island – Coco Cay and spent the day with more relaxing, sun and lounging in the ocean (it was so calm in the coves).

Last night of the cruise enjoying dinner. Cheers!
