Merry Christmas!

We had a merry Christmas filled with family, fun and lots of food! I've had this post written since right after Christmas but just took me a while to get all the pictures uploaded. Can't believe it's Feb. already!!

For Christmas we headed to Mt. Ayr after work on Thurs. evening and spent Fri. finishing wrapping gifts, cooking food and playing. We went to my parents evening church service along with all the Parrish’s which was nice. We even got to sit in the front row! Not too good of an idea when you have a 1 ½ year old throwing balls at the front steps. Then we headed over to Nina’s house for Christmas on that side. My cousin Gretchen and her family were back from England for the week so that was great to see all of them!

On Sat. we woke to find Santa had found us! Decker was quite thrilled with his new car and gas pump and spent most of the morning in the car (thanks Santa, aka Granny and Pampa!) Jeff was equally thrilled with his new guitar! His dad and grandpa both play and his dad had taught him when he was younger. He hasn’t played in years so is looking forward to learning. And we’re looking forward to it too! We had a nice morning opening presents and having Christmas with my immediate family and glad to spend Claire’s first Christmas with her! Although we did miss having my sister with us, we were able to Skype a lot and see each other on the computer.

Decker was so excited to try out his new car!

Decker stayed in that car all morning! Here he is "reading" Claire's new book to her. (He has the same one and it's one of his favorites.)

Sat. afternoon we headed up to Kris and Mark's house for Christmas with the Uitermarkts. We had a great time with all the cousins and everyone. Decker really enjoyed his GeoTrax train set (thanks grandma and grandpa) and loves to watch the trains go round. The “it” gift this year seemed to be snuggies for the kids. I didn’t know they made kid-sized snuggies! We had gotten our nephew Colten a TX snuggie as that’s his favorite team but all the other kids except for the little guys got them. Funny to see them running all around! Wish I could think of something so ingenious as putting a bath robe on backwards and becoming a millionaire :)

A few of the gifts were labeled wrong so Mark got to open some kid presents :)

On Sun. Jeff, Decker and I had Christmas. It was an awfully quiet day without all sorts of cousins around. We went to visit Jeff’s grandma Minnie in the nursing home and then stopped by Jeff’s grandpa’s house. He was playing his steel guitar so it was fun to listen!

Decker loves his new book we got him (he's our little bookworm!)

He also loves his new rain boots

Playing with his GeoTrax. He does this A LOT!

All of Decker's Christmas toys - our little boy loves his vehicles!

Fueling up!

I had taken the week off from work so Decker and I headed down to Mt. Ayr for the week. Unfortunately, I got strep throat so spent a lot of time in bed. And Jeff had the flu which was a bummer. Thankfully Decker stayed healthy through it all and I had my parents to help take care of him (and me too!) Although we still got to do several fun things with family. On Wed. night my dad rented out the bowling alley in town for family and friends. It was great fun to have the place to ourselves and have all the kiddos running around.

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas too!
