16 Months

In Sept., Decker was 16 months. I can’t believe how much our little Decker has grown in the last few months!!  He is such a funny little boy.  He loves to entertain people and is such a ham.  He’s also a little daredevil too.  One of Decker’s daredevil tricks that he learned is when he’s sitting on his rocket airplane he can get up and stand on the seat.  Once he’s standing on the seat, he throws his hands in the air and smiles big - like look at me!  I can just picture him 16 years old doing that on a dirt bike…lots of trouble in the years ahead if he’s anything like his father :)

Decker is a little monkey too and is climbing all over everything.  He figured out on his own that if he puts a toy next to the coffee table, sofa, bed, etc. he can climb up on things out of his reach.  Decker also became really clingy the past few months. Ever since Jeff went to Canada he’s been a HUGE daddy’s boy and has also been a bit clingier with me. For most of Sept. he cried every morning when I dropped him off at daycare. Not a fun way to start the day! Decker is also really big into giving kisses.  Every day when I pick him up from daycare I get about 3 kisses and he always kisses everyone good-bye.  Or high fives or knuckles.  What a sweetie! 

His vocabulary seems to grow every day and he is such a little mimic.  One day he said 5 new words!  Some of his words we hear the most are tractor, what dat, want dat, up, down, ball, baba (blankie), wawa (water), I don’t know (and he shrugs his shoulders), more, done (he used to sign more or done when he was eating but he’s starting to say the words now).  We also hear a lot of squealing/screaming when he gets frustrated :)  But it’s so fun to watch him grow and listen to him talk – we are so blessed! We were a little behind on our monthly appointments so instead of 15 months, it was 16 months. But for that timeframe, his weight was 24lb 13oz, 60%, and his height was 33in, 85%.
