Vroom, Vroom, Decker is 2!

On May 17 Decker turned 2. Yes, my little boy is growing up. Hard to believe! Decker is such a fun loving, smiley, mimic, chatterbox, stubborn, daredevil, gigglebox little man. He has also entered the “terrible twos” and definitely likes to show his independent side to Jeff and I. Right now he is quite the chatterbox and talks up a storm. I’m amazed at some of the words and phrases he knows and things that he picks up on. He’s also gotten a little bossy lately and likes to tell me where I should be driving to, or what I should eat, or wear, etc. Decker seems to be changing in looks and losing the baby face. I think he looks more like his dad all the time, except with my eyes. Decker still likes all things that have wheels and his latest love was the movie Cars. While I’m getting ready in the morning he watches cartoons in our bed. Right around his 2nd birthday he watched Cars every day for 6 weeks in the morning. And it had to start on scene 16 where they are tractor tipping. He’s also started imagine playing more which I love. It’s so fun to watch and see/hear what story he’s going to come up with next. Decker fills our lives with so much joy and we are amazingly blessed to have him! Happy Birthday little man!!

On Decker’s actual birthday he had a Mickey Mouse party at daycare and got cupcakes and little presents from all his friends at daycare. Kimmy spoils all her kids! Then that night we had Decker’s favorite meal – chicken nuggets, sweet potatoes, yogurt and ice cream from Jersey Freeze. Jeff and I got Decker a Mickey Mouse scooter for his birthday and he loves it. He’s quite good at riding and it’s cute as once he gets going he lifts up his leg off the ground and flies it out behind him like an ice skater. Cracks us up!

Decker also continues to love motorcycles so we made that the theme of his birthday party this year. We had his party the Sat. following his birthday and had quite a few people. Of course Decker was spoiled by all his family once again. We played outside all day and had fun riding around on the golf cart and gator in the neighborhood. The fish were really biting on our lake so most of the party headed down to the lake and went fishing for a bit. The kids had a blast and were catching fish on almost every cast. Since my family is from out of town everyone stayed over Sat. night (Matt and Katie even brought their new camper) and we had fun playing on Sun. and having a fish fry. We tried our luck fishing all day on Sun. and Decker was beyond thrilled to use his new fishing pole from grandma and grandpa. It has a fake fish on the end and every time he’d reel it in and say "look caught a big one!" Thanks everyone for making our little guy’s birthday so special!

I love your pics, he is so cute! It was great seeing you this summer. Next time we'll have to get the boys together. We have one that's hit terrible 2s here as well ; )
