Decker started kindergarten this year at Pella Christian
Grade School. Can’t believe my baby is 6
and going to school (tear). He started
on Monday 8/24 and his teacher this year is Miss Crystal. He gets to ride the bus this year and is very
excited about it. For the bus he rides
it to and from Sheri’s house (daycare) each day. It works out quite well to have one drop off
and pick up for the kids. Decker LOVED
school! I think his exact quote was “It
was awesome.” His favorite things so far
are recess and PE – go figure. He gets
to be in class with some of his friends from preschool and Pre-K so that was
comforting to him and he had no fear of starting to school. The first day I saw him get on the bus then
went to school and watched him get off the bus and take pictures (many moms were
doing this!) He came running off the bus
to me and held my hand walking into school with all the kids getting off the
buses at once, a little chaotic. About
halfway through the building he realized no one else was holding their moms
hand so he let go. Don’t know why that
hit me but it did. Luckily I held back
my tear until I got in the car alone. We
are so happy that Decker is loving school so much and know he will have an
amazing year at PCGS!
