Big Boy Bed

Our little man is getting to be so grown up! Decker has not been a good sleeper for quite some time :( Well, he's actually never been a great sleeper, but this summer he started having nightmares and waking up like clockwork every night. This developed into a not so good habit of waking up every night and getting into our bed. When you work as much as Jeff and I do sometimes you have to bend your "I'll never do that as a parent" rules and if it means everyone having a full nights sleep then you do it (even with the kicking in the back, head, rolling over, you name it!) With all of his nightmares and tantrums he never tried to climb out of his crib though. So we finally bought him a big boy bunk bed. Of course he loves it! He also loves the fact that his buddy Conner has an almost identical bed and was so excited to have a bed like Conner. We moved him into the guest bedroom and are slowly making it his new big boy room. After Christmas when things slow down I plan to get it fully decorated and will post pics. But in the meantime, he's actually sleeping a little bit better - waking up less and even sleeping in there through one night. So, we're slowly working on it. And of course the new Lighting McQueen bed sheets Granny bought him are a big hit!!
