Merry Christmas!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!! We had so much fun Christmas weekend!! And more yet to come! It is so fun to watch Decker at this age. On Sat. we woke up to find that Santa had found Decker at his house a day early. He got new GeoTrax train cars and tracks to match the one he got last year – and lots of them! He also got some fun stuff in his stocking and lots of candy! After we exchanged presents just the three of us we headed down to Mt. Ayr to spend the weekend with my family. Sat. afternoon we had visits from family friends and enjoyed the evening church service with my family and Nina. That evening we had oyster stew (yum!) and got to open one present – new pajamas. You’ll have to check out the picture of the adults in their new pajamas. My parents had visited the SPAM museum a few months back so we all got matching SPAM pjs :) My parents also gave us home movies. My mom had taken all of our home movies from growing up and put them on DVDs for us. What a hoot! We watched several videos on Sun. and can’t wait to watch even more. Before bed we listened to my parents read “Twas the Night Before Christmas” and the story of Jesus being born.

Sat. morning we awoke to find that Santa had once again found us! This time around Decker got farm toys and an ISU football helmet and jersey. Which he proceeded to wear the ISU jersey almost the entire day – go Cyclones! Claire got a baby doll but as she tends to be Decker’s little mimic she was pretty interested in the tractors too. Now that Claire is getting older it’s fun to watch her and Decker play well together. Although they do have their moments as you’d expect with 1.5 and 2.5 year olds and Claire is very good at saying the word “mine”. It was a relaxing day and none of us got out of our pajamas until the guys had to cook the turkey outside. Don’t worry, they promptly put their pjs back on for supper – just in time to eat all they wanted for dinner. While the guys were cooking the turkey Decker got his last present of the day, a new bicycle. He’s ridden on trikes before so had the pedaling motion down but I could not believe how quickly he was riding that bike! Within 10 min. the little squirt was weaving through the cars in the driveway and going down the hill of my parents driveway. He looked like such a big boy on that bike and is growing up so fast that both Jeff and I teared up a bit. Where does time seem to go?! (The pictures of the bike are on mom's camera so will have to post later.) On Mon. we spent part of the day at Grandma Mickey’s house and enjoyed spending more time as a family together before we headed back home on Tues. morning. What a great weekend!

Santa stopped by for a visit before he headed back to the North Pole.

Decker thought Pampa should have a turn. And Uncle Matt too.

I had to include this picture in here. Claire LOVES Decker's hair. She's always petting him and playing with his hair since she was a baby :)
