World Food Festival

After Decker had stayed with my parents while Kimmie was gone, Granny and Katie brought him back home and stayed through the weekend. On Friday we went to the World Food Festival. It was neat to try all the different ethnicities. Some of the different things we ate were Lebanese food, Turkish food, candied bacon ice cream, nutella crepes, some rice/bean dish and several things I can't remember the names but they tasted yummy! I would highly recommend going if you're in the DSM area next year. Decker didn't try much but liked the live music (he did a lot of dancing!) and the $1 sample items on sticks. So now we've started putting toothpicks in our food that is hard to get him to eat. All of the sudden he's eating all his veggies and more when you put them on a stick. A good tip if any of you have picky eaters out there! The rest of the weekend I painted furniture for Decker's new big boy room (we're going to move him in a month or so) while mom and Katie watched Decker, helped clean the house and cooked good food.
